6.6.14 Remote backup in ISPManager6 control panel
The ISPManager6 server control panel has a functionality for creating backups to remote file storages. Such a backup can be configured in just a few clicks.
Setting up backup creation
Let’s look at creating such backup copies using the example of backups to the servers of your Cloud Storage:
Important: all highlighted variables in the examples must be replaced with your information.
1. Go to your ISPManager6 control panel. Go to the Backup copies section. If backups have not been activated before, the panel will display a warning and ask you to fill in the missing settings. Click Fill out:
2. The settings window for a new backup task will open. In the first section Main you need to fill in the parameters for accessing the remote storage:

- Storage type – in our example, it will be
FTP
. ISPManager6 also supports many alternative backup storage destinations, such asDropbox
,Amazon Drive
or the usualSFTP
. - Server URL – remote host address, for example server.keepdata.thehost.ua. You can find out the address of your Cloud Storage host as follows.
- FTP Port – 21 is usually used for FTP, 22 for SFTP.
- Path to backup directory – path to the directory (based on the root directory for the FTP user) where the backup will be written. In our example, it is /backup/.
- User – active FTP user on the remote storage. In our example, ftp_user, created inside the KeepData panel.
- Password – password of such FTP user.
3. Fill in all further backup settings according to your needs and click Save:
4. Done! Now your backup after creation will be uploaded to your Cloud storage or any other remote server you specified.
